Some of the younger prisoners were released without any conditions, and this news spread around that everyone will be freed on the condition that all sign a testimony that they will not attend any meeting. This rumour made everyone hopeful and happy, imagining the families back together. The family believed this and became attached to this idea and everyday waited for their loved ones to show up or call, and for any news. This created a sense of false hope and can be described as an agonising period of waiting. The weekly visits continued, some harder to bear than others:

The day after my birthday I went to visit Baba and my dear Baba had not forgotten my birthday. He said happy birthday and I felt the lump in my throat from joy. I could not believe that my father, who was against birthday parties at home, would think of my birthday. He said, happy birthday and excitedly I said, you haven’t forgotten. He said:

“No and I also wished you happy birthday in three letters, but obviously they did not reach to you.”

About a week after this visit:

When visiting Mamman and Roya, Mamman asked me:

“Rosi, how is the weather? Have the orange tree blossoms appeared?”

I said, yes Mamman, you are missed, and their fragrance has filled the air. Then she told me to enjoy these beautiful scenes of nature and she started to cry. I felt a cold sweat all over my body, but tried not to show any sign. Then again she said, “How is Baba? Tell him that I miss him very much” and she started crying again. Roya grabbed the microphone from her hand, and with a soothing smile said, she is always like this, as soon as Baba’s name is mentioned, tears roll down her cheeks.

Some time later, I found out that the prison’s fresh air courtyard had been revamped and the prisoners had not seen the sun or breathed fresh air for a long time. After that visit, I sat in the house, said prayers and cried. I had just realized how cursed I was that my family, because of their love of the Blessed Beauty, deserve to tolerate just a little of the troubles that their beloved had suffered, but I, who do not deserve that honour, have to enjoy the beautiful nature. It is good that time passes.

During their period of imprisonment Enayat and Ezzat, and Roya, only once had the chance to meet each other in person and to talk together. That happened when the Chief judge gathered all the prisoners in one place in order to guide them and give them a last chance to know about the consequences of their actions. At the end of that meeting, he permitted the immediate relatives to meet each other. At other times, they sent messages to each other through their younger daughter Rozita.

“During this period, Baba always sent Mamman messages about being patient and strong, and to submit to the Will of God, and Mamman would talk about missing him and suffering from being far from him. Even once, I told Baba that Mamman misses you very much and asks about you all the time.

The last visit with Enayat was on Wednesday 15th June to give news of Rozita’s impending engagegment to her fiance. Although Rozita wished to wait until the release of her parents and sister before getting engaged, Enayat and Ezzat were worried for Rozita, a young girl alone in that environment. They encouraged her to get engaged and marry as soon as possible and not to wait for their release. At that visit:

He became very happy to the extent that tears welled up in his eyes and a lump in his throat. When we gave him the news of our engagement (which was to happen the following day) he said:

“Don’t worry if we are not there with you physically, our spirit will be there with you. Wish you a happy life. Greet everyone for us. We are thinking of everyone and are happy with whatever God desires for us. This is history.”

At the end he left us while he was in a very happy state, and as usual, in front of all the other prisoners, returned to the prison cell in a hurry.
